Lighting a unique space
The ATA Beckman theatre was (sadly, it no longer exists) a relatively tall ceiling performance space in NYC. However, the lighting inventory and options were modest, so many choices and selections had to be made. Often scenes would be lit with small profile lights, and at times, a well hidden clip light. The creative challenge was making sure our adventure to the seas from a bedroom translated to the audience.
